…that your faith will not be in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God… 1 Cor. 2:18 In our world, there are two predominant views, the rational and the irrational. The rational view is driven by logic and believes that the world is controlled by the forces of nature. The irrational view on the other hand, is driven by intuition and believes that the world is controlled by the invisible, intangible, unseen forces. In the Western part of the world, the views are rational, believing that human beings are essentially bodies with lives; the irrational believe the opposite. Both views are trying to resolve the problems mankind faces, seeking deep formulae for success. Apostle Paul describes these two world view using the Greeks and the Jews. The Greeks represent the rational world view while the Jews represent the irrational. They really are seeking power and wisdom to solve the world’s socio-economic and political problems, a miracle solution. The greatest and most spectacular miracle that has and will ever occur in human history is the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The greatest demonstration of power is the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, it’s the deepest display of power and wisdom; and it will remain unequalled forever!! Behind Jesus’ death is a hidden secret mystery. The spiritual world operates a legal system. Jesus died an innocent man, He shed His blood on behalf of mankind, thus, He paid a debt He did not owe. Consequently, we as believers are free!! If the people who killed Jesus knew this, they wouldn’t have crucified Him. Satan’s plot to eliminate Jesus only hastened God’s redemption plan for mankind.
In the new year, our faith should be in the power. Armed with the knowledge of the truth that Jesus has fully redeemed us we must move away from every dependence on human ability. The resurrection power is at work in our lives. Have a prosperous New Year. |
