ADEYEMI BLEMS INCOMPETENT LEADERSHIP FOR NATION WOES

The Senior Pastor of Daystar Christian Centre, Lagos, Pastor Sam Adeyemi, has decried apparent lack of competence in leadership by several political office holders in the country. He said the nation’s political system has become so corrupt people erroneously define leadership as a fast lane to self-enrichment.
Adeyemi stated this while addressing journalists ahead of this year’s leadership programme, tagged Excellence in Leadership Conference, organized by the Daystar Christian Centre, Lagos. The three-day international conference slated for Friday November 9-11 will feature seasoned speakers like Pastor Nike Adeyemi, Pastor Bryan Crute from the United States, Pastor David Ibiyeomie, Jimi Agbaje, Lolu Akinwunmi and others.
Adeyemi, a prolific writer and motivational speaker, said the country would witness a revolution in the next decade, an era that would bring the desired transformation in the land. He described leadership as an essential commodity presently lacking in the country, noting that most leaders in corridors have little understanding of the demands of their office.
“The purpose of the conference is that we want all the participants to discover their potentials for leadership. One of the mistakes people make is to believe that we do not teach leadership in our country. As critical a need as it is, in other parts of the world, they have institutions that offer diploma programmes, certificate programmes, degree programmes, second and third degrees, doctorate programmes in leadership. In our country, we do not have accredited institutions that offer leadership as a course at degree level. We do not have institutions that produce or create leaders”, he said.
To save the situation, Adeyemi noted that the Daystar Church, as part of its divine mandate of raising future leaders, had in the last 10years, graduated 20, 000 people from basic certificate and advanced certificate programmes at its Daystar Leadership Academy.
Speaking on the recent restriction on the operations of commercial motorcyclist in Lagos, the popular presenter of Success Power commended the new policy, which he said would curtail road crashes and rising criminality in the city. He however, urged the government to institute measures that would mitigate the harsh effect on the operators.
He expressed optimism that the present labour in grooming the future generation would yield the desired benefits for the nation.
Hear him: “we sincerely believe that God is using us to raise a new generation of leaders. We believe that God is using us to raise a new generation of leaders. We believe that we will not leave the country the way we met it. We believe that all of us are praying for the transformation of this country. We will be happy to say that the transformation has begun in the hearts of young men and women. We believe that before long, we will see it in full manifestation”.
