Daystar’s Caring Heart group feeds a community
On Saturday 29th October 2016, residents of Isheri Olofin, Ogun State leaped with joy as they took delivery of several gifts in form of cloths and foodstuff from the Caring Heart group of Daystar Christian Centre, Lagos.
Defying the rough and long road that leads to Opic Centre, the Caring Heart group, led by Ms. Thelma, gracefully catered for the needs of hundreds of beneficiaries that kept trooping to the Soup Kitchen Outreach. The benevolent event commenced with registration, followed by special counseling sessions for every participant after which they were handed the supplies.
The supplies included foodstuff such as rice, beans, groundnut oil, spaghetti, salt, biscuits, clothing and several other items that could last a family for weeks.
According to Mrs Abosede, one of the beneficiaries, “This is such a timely gesture by this great church as my children and I haven’t had much to eat for days now, only for us to hear that a church was coming to give out food. At first I didn’t believe them until I got here and experienced this great thing myself. May God’s blessing never leave this church.”
In addition to the numerous gifts that were supplied, many of the overjoyed participants also gave their lives to Christ after having heard God’s word.
Over the years, the Caring Heart unit has visited several rural communities, schools and orphanages, meeting dire needs while sharing The Good News. Below are photos from the beautiful event.
