The quest for wisdom

The quest for wisdom

Proverbs 1:5 – 7

Pastor Kenny Folarin

Speaking about Jesus, we learnt that He knew what to do and how to get the best result possible. Every time it was recorded that the people were astonished at the things that Jesus was doing. This tells us that wisdom takes away frustration from you. It eliminates, removes and reduces frustration from your life. Wisdom knows how to get the best result in a situation.

Most of the time the challenge is, we don’t know what to do or we don’t know exactly how to go about it and knowing makes life cheap, simple and easy. Every challenge is a wisdom problem because the bible records about Jesus he himself knew what to do. When you know what to do you will be calm, cool and collected. The accumulation of knowledge brings about wisdom. In our environment today, we will observe that lack of wisdom will always lead to wastage of all kinds of resources.

Scriptures says in ecclesiastics 10:15 that the labor of the fool wearies every one of him, he does not know how to go to the city. The not knowing how brings about frustration. Simply means, we need technical know-how to go about the things we are doing. You are what you know.

Someone said if you are not informed, you will be deformed. If you are not in the know, you won’t be in the flow. We live in an age of information explosion; everything you think and want to do is just at the click of a mouse. This is why we all in our quest for wisdom must pursue knowledge, pursue information and get it because what you don’t know can kill you.

The highest form of knowledge is the knowledge of God. The more we know Him: the more we know ourselves. We are created in the image of God, lack of knowing God is what makes you not understanding yourself. Proverbs 9:10 says the fear of the lord is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the Holy Spirit is crucial. The grace that you need will be multiplied as a result of your knowledge of God.

The knowledge of God gives you ideological foundation that gives you stability and strength. It helps you withstand Satan’s lies and deception. When you don’t know the God that you have and carry on the inside of you, it makes you look weak and cheap. Knowing God gives you stability and strength.

Ignorance is deadly; we blame the devil for almost everything that happens to us now because we lack wisdom. Satan can only take advantage of us to the degree of our ignorance.  The more wisdom you have in your life, the less room the devil has to maneuver around you and in your life.

Learn to draw inspiration from the word of God because, inspiration will pave way for revelation. It will make you wise. Read your bible for yourself, understanding what God says, gain wisdom from scriptures.
